Mineral Resources Perth headquarters receives green star certification
After opening in June 2022, Mineral Resources’ (ASX: MIN) has received green star certification for its headquarters in Osborne Park, Perth.
This building is the seventh in the state to receive six-star green star design and as built certification from Green Building Council Australia (GBCA).
Certification from GBCA assesses the sustainability outcomes from the design and construction of new building or major refurbishments across management, emissions, land use and ecology, innovation, materials, indoor environment quality, water, transport and energy.
The green star ratings encourage the industry to create building that are liveable, healthy, productive, sustainable and resilient.
Mineral Resources executive general manager corporate development James Bruce says the certification is an outstanding achievement for the company.
“This significant investment in creating a high-quality, sustainable headquarters has reinforced how we care about our employees and the quality of their working environment,” he said.
“Green star recognition reflects our MinRes culture and our focus on providing productive and collaborative places where our employees feel included.
“It’s a great achievement and follows years of work by many people at MinRes making a contribution to a more sustainable Australia.”
Mineral Resources’ building features a subsidised café and restaurant, a commercial quality gym, a family zone for working parents and a wellness centre providing medical and psychology services.
It also includes a state-of-the-art air filtration system, water stations, lighting systems which work on the concept of circadian rhythm, climate control, soundscape system and contactless doors and taps.
