AFTER securing a mining contract with Atlas Iron’s Wodgina iron ore project in 2010, BGC Contracting has now been working on the project for more than two years.
As Atlas builds up production at Wodgina to 6 million tonnes per annum, BGC Contracting is proud to be a part of the project’s development. “BGC Contracting realises that this is just a step in the Atlas growth
strategy and we look forward to continuing our growth to meet this goal,” executive general manager mining Martin Spibey said. “There are always challenges on a mining project but we will continue,
together with Atlas, to find timely solutions.”
Atlas’s planned increase in production has seen the BGC Contracting fleet grow to three 120t excavators, 15 100t dump trucks and five top hammer drill rigs, plus an associated support fleet.
