The Drillmech approach

Drillmech is more than just a contractor — it is a partner in performance, committed to helping clients improve uptime, reduce costs and deliver quality outcomes on every job.
Rebuild and repair excellence
At the core of Drillmech’s operation is its rebuild capability — restoring heavy mining equipment to peak performance while significantly reducing capital expenditure for clients.
With in-house heavy fabrication, machining, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic expertise, Drillmech delivers full-scope rebuilds that return critical assets to service faster, safer, and more reliably than a full replacement.
Typical rebuild projects include:
- Production and development drills
- Trucks, Loaders, charge-up machines and ancillary underground equipment
- Transmissions, axle groups, torque converters and final drives
- Hydraulic cylinders, rotary actuators, and other underground drill boom componentry
- Bucket and tray repairs, upgrades and wear protection solutions
Purpose built facilities and control
Every rebuild project is managed within Drillmech’s 7,200m² workshop and service yard. The facility includes 100T lifting capacity, specialised rebuild bays, component rebuild areas, and integrated sandblasting and paint facilities — allowing quality control and rapid turnaround at every stage.
This in-house capability means Drillmech can manage all aspects of a rebuild — from strip-down and inspection to machining, assembly, and final commissioning — without relying on external contractors. That control is what ensures consistent quality, shorter lead times, and lower total cost of ownership for clients.
Lifecycle Transparency
Drillmech’s service model is built on full project visibility. Clients receive regular strip-down reports, component assessments, and progressive cost updates throughout the rebuild.
That transparency allows asset owners to make informed repair-versus-replace decisions and plan future maintenance more effectively. It’s one of the reasons major miners trust Drillmech with high-value assets critical to production uptime.
Safety and reliability first
Certified to ISO 9001, Drillmech maintains best-practice OH&S and quality systems across all workshop and field service operations. Each rebuild undergoes rigorous inspection, testing, and commissioning before returning to service — ensuring safety, compliance, and long-term reliability.
Field service and mobile support
Drillmech backs its workshop rebuilds with a fully equipped mobile repair fleet covering mine sites across WA.
Its field service technicians — including plant mechanics, boilermakers and auto-electricians — are trained and accredited for underground and surface maintenance. The fleet includes mobile line boring units, ensuring rapid onsite repairs and minimising downtime.
Parts exchange and component support
Drillmech maintains an expanding inventory of service-exchange components, allowing customers to keep machines running while repairs are underway. Most exchange parts are available with a 24-hour turnaround, supporting both planned and unplanned maintenance events.
This model reduces idle time, improves asset utilisation, and provides predictable repair costs over the life of the equipment.
Expanding into the Goldfields
To better support regional mining clients, Drillmech has established a permanent presence in Kalgoorlie. The new facility will provide:
- Rapid-response repair capability
- Service-exchange parts availability
- A base for local field service operations
With boots on the ground and parts on the shelf, Drillmech is positioned to respond faster and reduce downtime for mining operators across the Goldfields.
Looking ahead
As Drillmech continues to grow, its focus remains on reliability, rebuild innovation, and lifecycle value. From the Barcharge project to major fleet overhauls, the company’s reputation is built on engineering quality, operational transparency, and results that speak for themselves.
