Putzmeister Geokret Scanner
Complete shotcrete scanning solution
In the high-stakes environment of underground mining there is no room for error. With the unique and often complex challenges faced by workers at these sites, accuracy is paramount to site safety and operational efficiency.
Putzmeister have developed a solution to ensure that shotcreting on site is done optimally and, most importantly, safely.
Geokret 2.0 is the complete solution for scanning shotcrete in underground environments, helping you perform your shotcrete applications much more intelligently. This system increases safety and durability, avoids unnecessary costs due to the waste of material and ensures the best spray quality possible.
The system is based on a high-precision 3D laser scanner with data transmission via Wi-Fi to the tablet, without cables for greater flexibility (mount the laser in your Putzmeister concrete spraying equipment or in the included tripod). Perform high precision scans in 45 seconds up to 360º of the gallery, without interruption of the work cycle.
Putzmeister’s qualified EFNARC examiner and trainer Ben Morris says that the technology is user friendly and simplifies shotcrete scanning.
“As someone who worked underground every day shotcreting, using the Geokret 2.0 is a game-changer when it comes to scanning,” said Mr Morris.
“I can set it up on the sprayer or a tripod, hit scan and within a minute I’ve got a full 360° picture of the heading.
“I can then do my work spraying the heading set it up again and check what’s been sprayed to thickness and what still needs work or worse case what’s been overdone.
“No more over-spraying or probing/drilling or doing the old school mathematical method —just clear thickness image right in front of me on the tablet.”
Putzmeister’s intuitive Geokret app has been designed with the operator in mind. In just a few clicks, the scans and report are ready and at your fingertips. The easy accessibility allows you to focus on what is important, the shotcrete application and its optimisation.
Integrated into a robust and reliable tablet, the Geokret system is engineered to perform in the challenging conditions associated with underground mining.
“The Geokret app is simple, you don’t need to be a tech expert to use it,” said Mr Morris.
“Comparing scans before and after spraying is really easy and the system shows exactly where material is thin or overdone using a heatmap, you can click on areas to see the exact thickness in that spot.”
Geokret 2.0 includes the licence of the powerful software Cyclone3DR, to analyse your data, including volume, thickness and area, and generate exhaustive reports of your measurements.
“Best thing for me is if I forget to do the final scan I can come back anytime, I don’t need to be in the same spot I can just set the scanner up in the area and pick up where I sprayed and check it’s up to standard,” said Mr Morris.
The technology is currently in use at mine sites in NSW and in various underground sites across the Goldfields of WA.
Ben Morris is available for on-site demonstrations to help you familiarise yourself with the technology and seamlessly integrate it on-site into your operations.
