Wastewater, reinventedWastewater reinvented

In an era where sustainable water management is critical, EcowaterWA has emerged as a leader in Western Australia’s wastewater treatment and recycling industry. Established in 2012, the company has addressed the complex wastewater treatment requirements of industrial mining operations through the delivery of smart, reliable solutions.

As a distributor of FujiClean, a Japanese company and a world leader in onsite wastewater treatment systems, EcowaterWA ensures that every drop of black and greywater can be recycled and reused. Over the last 15 years, EcowaterWA has successfully supplied the Fujiclean commercial systems for different industries, proving the systems’ reliability in all market conditions.

“We can assist with the design and Shire approvals and we provide turnkey solutions for any project requiring onsite sewerage treatment systems,” said EcowaterWA’s Greg Thompson.

“Our systems can be installed in-ground or we can provide containerised systems that are supplied  plug-and-play.”

EcowaterWA offers a range of products tailored to meet diverse onsite wastewater treatment applications. And one specific area where these products are being implemented is the treatment of mining camp sewerage.

The Majority of mining camps are remote and require an onsite sewerage treatment system. EcowaterWA can assist with design and approvals resulting in a robust and reliable onsite wastewater solution for mining accommodation and production facilities

How FujiClean systems work

FujiClean systems use a combination of anaerobic and aerobic bacteria to treat wastewater. A variety of proprietary media is used to promote bacterial growth and aid in the digestion and treatment of wastewater. Aeration, specific flow designs, effluent recirculation, sludge transfer and Air-Lift Flow-Equalizing technology are techniques used to optimise treatment and get the most out of the tank space.

Commercial aerated wastewater treatment systems, including the FujiClean commercial CV and PCN range are designed to treat human wastewater on a large scale.

The STP packaged treatment system is engineered for commercial applications, and offers a lightweight and compact solution for onsite wastewater treatment. Available in sizes ranging from 3KL/day up to 200KL/day. The systems are modular and can be simply expanded to increase treatment capacity, accommodating site growth and increased demands.

The PCN commercial system is engineered to suit specific site requirements and is a complete self-contained, plug-and-play solution.

“All commercial systems are manufactured in Japan and made of fibre-reinforced plastic,” said Greg.

“The systems are designed to contain the entire treatment process in a single tank, for either above or below-ground installations. The lightweight and compact construction of the system simplifies the installation procedure and enables easy access in difficult site locations.

Greg added, “Commercial systems can be modulated, making increasing treatment capacity much easier for future expansion. Due to the variable organic and hydraulic loading of larger projects, you need to consider the appropriate system size and treatment process being used. We can assist clients with the design and sizing specifications, ensuring they get the right system to suit their project.”

Thanks to their low energy consumption and durable construction, EcowaterWA’s wastewater treatment solutions have played a key role in many notable projects across the State—from the Port Hedland International Airport upgrade, the Merredin Airport, and Roy Hill mine site to the Carnarvon Ampol service station, and several caravan parks, recreational centres, and schools.

One notable project is the Meeka Metals mine site where EcowaterWA was asked to provide an above-ground portable solution for the site.

Ecowaterwa provided a modular containerised system plug and play which can be upscaled to expand with the camp by adding another module when required.Wastewater reinvented
