MACA has been awarded a five-year extension to its open pit mining contract at the Gruyere gold mine.

Located around 1200 kilometres north-east of Perth in WA’s north-eastern Goldfields region, the Gruyere gold mine is held in joint venture between Gold Fields and Gold Road Resources (ASX:GOR).

Currently, the mine has a mine life of more than 10 years and last year Gruyere delivered record annual gold production of 314,647oz.

Gold Fields executive vice president Stuart Mathews is pleased MACA will continue its services.

“Gold Fields Australia is pleased that a tier one business partner like MACA will continue supporting our Gruyere JV gold mine ensuring a continuity of service and the relationships we have built through all aspects of our business – not just at an operational level,” he said.

Under the extended contract, MACA will continue to provide a comprehensive range of mining services including load and haul, crushing and screening, drill and blast and light-vehicle and heavy vehicle maintenance.

MACA chief executive David Greig said the extension solidifies the company’s partnership with the Gruyere joint venture.

“We are excited to embark on this extended partnership with Gruyere JV, which is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, who have consistently delivered high-quality services to date,” he said.

“This contract extension further solidifies our long-standing partnership with Gruyere JV.

“MACA remains committed to providing innovative mining solutions that’s aligns with our clients’ evolving needs.”

To ensure a collaborative approach to the mining operations, MACA will work with the traditional owners of the land, the Yilka.

“We remain dedicated to fostering strong relationships with Indigenous communities and respecting cultural heritage,” Mr Greig said.

The extension is expected to generate around $850m in revenue over the next five years.
