WA-based Wescone Distribution manufactures and sells the unique W300/2, a high speed cone crusher for use in the bulk sampling of a variety of materials, primarily ores for export.
Due to its high operating speed, with consequent rapid reduction of samples,the W300/2 has been the sample crusher of choice for iron ore miners in the Pilbara since it was released in mid 1995. There
are about 70 machines currently operating with BHP Billiton, Pilbara Iron and Fortescue Metals Group, in that area alone.
The crusher’s excess capacity has meant that it has been able to meet the extra workload created by ever expanding outputs from various mines. With ongoing design improvement, and testing and refinement of parts manufacture, a very mature machine is available to industry today.
Since the W300/2 was released, millions of hours of operation have produced a quantum of information which can be used to advise clients on the performance and maintenance of the W300/2 crusher.
