RetroGUARD your workplace

RetroGUARD your workplace

Reducing dropped object risks, injuries and deaths has been Pro3 Safety’s focus for more than 15 years. Over that time, Dropped Object Prevention Systems (DROPS) have become a priority for businesses. Dropped object prevention is an essential part of good plant design and now, with Pro3 Safety’s clips, it can be easily retrofitted as part of ongoing safety improvements or maintenance programs at established sites.

Pro3 Safety has provided its system’s effectivity to BHP (ASX: BHP), Newcrest Mining (ASX: NCM), Newmont Mining (ASX: NEM), Rio Tinto (ASX: RIO), Fortescue (ASX: FMG), South32 (ASX: S32) and many other resources sector names. The company also has experience working with airports and power plants amongst other industries to improve workers’ safety.

Pro3 Safety’s dropped object prevention systems not only save lives, but it can also prevent damage to vital and expensive equipment and is intalled without disruptions to production schedules. Once installed it will continue to provide protection, in most cases, for the life of the plant. The system has proven to be an invaluable investment and an absolute must when designing new plants and for older facilities aiming to raise safety standards.

Pro3 Safety director Simon Noack says the company is Australian-owned and the products are designed and manufactured locally using Australian steel.

“We are committed to supporting other local companies and jobs,” he said.

“Our products are designed and rigorously tested for tough Australian wind and weather conditions and have stood the test of time.

“We have guarding, which has been protecting sites and workers for more than 15 years in the harshest parts of our country.”

Pro3 developed RetroGUARD as part of its innovative dropped object prevention system. RetroGUARD can be fitted to handrails, RetroSTEP to existing stairs, and RetroTREAD to platforms and floors. The product range is available in hot-dipped galvanised, stainless and golden yellow. They suit a wide variety of handrail dimensions, shapes and configurations.

RetroGUARD safety panel system can adapt to all types of platforms, stairs and walkways. It maintains the existing handrail integrity and meets Australian Standards. It can be quickly and easily removed and re-installed to provide vital access to areas for maintenance works.

RetroGUARD is engineered to prevent injury from dropped objects and falls from personnel leaning through, standing, or stepping onto handrails.

Maintaining three points of contact during access and egress, it is fitted entirely from inside the safety barriers of the platform or stairs. Its flexible design gives complete coverage, even for internal and external corners.

Pro3 safety director Andrew Crothers says his team can easily customise the products to clients’ needs.

“We have a bracket system that simply clips onto existing handrails, filling a gap in workplace safety identified previously on sites where Simon and I worked,” he said.

“Our integrated products are fast to produce, easy to install and require no drafting, surface preparation or hot works.”

The company is committed to continually improving safety in the workplace and setting new standards in dropped object prevention solutions and systems.
