Olive Downs project

TRM Fencing was awarded a contract to undertake the fencing scope for the 19km of rail infrastructure to the Central Queensland Coal Network for the Olive Downs South Rail Spur and Balloon Loop project.

TRM executed the works to a high-quality standard and overcame various challenges without hesitation. The fencing scope underwent multiple iterations of design changes throughout the life of the project and presented last minute design issues at the railway level crossings where TRM’s expertise in the fencing space offered intuitive solutions that enabled the track to be electrified on schedule.

The fencing scope included 30.5 km of 4-barb boundary fencing, 1.5 km of 4-barb internal fencing at railway level crossings and high security fencing and gates surrounding the high voltage auto transformer site.

At the site, TRM also installed 75 gates (combination of single and double leaf gates ranging from 4.8 m to 9.6 m), 32 flood gates at culvert and bridge water flows, 50 Type 2 panels (welded cattle rail) at gates and tie-in to cattle grids and 16 Isolation panels at railway level crossings.

The world class execution of the project at Olive Downs by TRM is a testament to the company’s versatile and dynamic team and the extent of their capabilities and expertise.

TRM has also completed successful projects along the Carmichael rail network, which connects to the Carmichael coal mine in central Queensland, that included more than 260km of fencing.

The company is currently undergoing the supply and installation of fencing at the Harmony Resources (ASX: HMY) owned Eva copper mine operations in northwest Queensland.

TRM work collaboratively to achieve practical results when faced with challenges and its team is experienced, flexible, committed and easy to work with. The team is passionate about the work they do and build strong working relationships with all partners.
