Multiple high priority lithium anomalies defined at Mt Dove Seven high priority lithium anomalies have been defined at Flynn Gold’s (ASX:FG1) Mt Dove project in the Pilbara region of WA. The anomalies come from an in-fill soil sampling program which was designed to evaluate multiple lithium and gold anomalies outlined from an ultra-fine fraction (UFF) soil sampling program. The seven high priority anomalies reveal broad areas of lithium soil anomalism, extending lengths between 600m and 3.1km plus widths of between 200m and 1km. Fenix Resources boosts production with 500kt iron ore purchase agreement Fenix Resources (ASX:FEX) has signed a binding ore purchase agreement with iron ore producer 10M for the purchase of 500kt of high-grade hematite iron ore. Under the 24-month period, 10M will supply 500kt of +60% iron direct shipping ore (DSO) from the Woolbung Peak deposit within the Twin Peaks direct shipping iron ore project. Using its expanded port capacity and logistics capabilities, Fenix will be responsible for haulage, storage, port services, ship loading, marketing and sales. WA invests $4m for carbon capture hub The WA State Government will invest more than $4m to establish a carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) industry in the state. CCUS involves capturing and storing carbon dioxide to reduce emissions from industrial-scale processes and projects, and it will play an important role in decarbonising hard-to-abate industries across the world. Stage two metallurgical testwork begins at Canegrass Viking Mines (ASX:VKA) has engaged ALS Metallurgy to undertake stage two metallurgical testwork from 29 samples taken from the Canegrass battery minerals project in WA. Samples come from a recent 7500m drilling program which was undertaken to infill and extend the main mineralised zones as well as assess new target areas. This drilling program was successful in that it expanded the mineralised zones and confirmed the continuity of mineralisation. WA to deliver $134m in funding to reduce emissions The WA State Government will deliver $134m in funding to slash the State’s greenhouse gas emissions and drive new job opportunities in clean energy industries. Hannans and Metalfer join forces for proposed lithium battery recycling partnership Hannans (ASX:HNR) and Serbian steelmaking company Metalfer Group have executed a binding collaboration agreement for a proposed lithium battery recycling partnership. In 2022, the companies began due diligence to support the decision of entering this agreement. Under the agreement, Hannans and Metalfer will work together to complete a feasibility study for a 10tpd spoke battery shredding plant. Sandvik develops new test mine To support the shift towards electrification and the advancement of autonomous and optimisation technologies in surface drilling, Sandvik has acquired a new testing facility in Finland to develop and prove future surface drilling technologies. The test mine lies 40km northwest of Tampere and Sandvik’s underground test mine. The site is Sandvik’s first dedicated exclusively to surface drilling on a large scale.
