Dozer track servicing at ITM’s Welshpool and Yatala facilities

With nearly 70 years of excellence, ITM is a global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of undercarriage components and complete undercarriage solutions. Covering the entire range of modern crawler machine applications, the Group serves the construction, mining, utility, forestry, road building, and agriculture industries.  ITM Mining Pty Ltd, the Australian company of the Group, has major support hubs in Yatala in Queensland and Welshpool in Western Australia. These facilities are strategically positioned to serve the country’s key mining regions, offering comprehensive dozer track servicing that ensures maximum uptime and performance for customers’ fleets.

Both Welshpool and Yatala sites are equipped with advanced track shops capable of managing the complete lifecycle of undercarriage components. From disassembly and inspection to reconditioning, assembly, and final quality checks, ITM’s teams deliver comprehensive servicing for dozer tracks and other heavy mobile equipment. The Welshpool facility, located in the heart of Western Australia’s mining hub, is optimised for rapid turnaround to support high-demand operations. Yatala, strategically positioned to service Queensland and New South Wales, provides tailored support for the region’s diverse mining environments. Together, these sites form a national service network, ensuring consistent coverage, technical expertise, and reliable undercarriage solutions across key mining regions.

The servicing process begins with a detailed inspection using calibrated tools and digital diagnostics. Components are then cleaned, measured, and assessed for wear. Reusable parts are reconditioned to OEM-equivalent standards, while worn-out elements are replaced with ITM-manufactured components. The final assembly undergoes rigorous testing before delivery, ensuring each track system is ready for the harshest field conditions.

ITM’s facilities operate under ISO 9001:2015-certified quality systems, ensuring that every service meets stringent global standards. Each technician is trained in ITM’s proprietary servicing protocols, and all reconditioned components are benchmarked in accordance with OEM specifications.  Precision tooling and calibrated measurement systems guarantee dimensional accuracy and performance reliability. This commitment to quality is not just procedural; it’s in ITM’s culture.

Innovation is at the core of ITM’s value proposition. TRUST ITM® and TrackAdvice® technologies are fully integrated into the servicing workflow. TRUST ITM® uses embedded sensors to monitor wear and temperatures in real time, enabling predictive maintenance and reducing unplanned downtime. TrackAdvice® provides data-driven insights into component performance, helping customers make informed decisions about servicing intervals and fleet optimization. These technologies are not just add-ons, they are embedded into our service DNA. By combining physical servicing with digital intelligence, we offer a solution that maximises lifecycle value and operational efficiency.

Feedback from customers highlights not only the technical quality of ITM’s work, but also the responsiveness and expertise of its teams. Whether it’s a rapid turnaround or a complex rebuild requiring engineering input, ITM’s facilities deliver with precision and professionalism.

Over the past few months, both facilities have experienced a marked rise in demand – an indicator of the mining sector’s sharpened focus on asset reliability. Welshpool has expanded its service bay capacity to accommodate larger volumes, while Yatala has introduced a new logistics workflow to streamline parts handling and reduce lead times. One of the key challenges of the Australian sites has been managing this growth while maintaining service quality — a challenge that the teams have met with agility and dedication.

Looking ahead, ITM Mining is positioning itself as the benchmark for undercarriage servicing in Australia. The dual-facility model, backed by global engineering and local expertise, allows to serve both OEM and aftermarket clients with unmatched flexibility. As part of the broader ITM Group, ITM Mining is also involved in digital transformation, sustainability, and workforce development to remain at the forefront of the industry. In a market where uptime is everything, ITM’s Welshpool and Yatala facilities are more than service centres — they are performance partners.
