Raglan DrillingRaglan Drilling

20 years of excellence in exploration

In 2025, Raglan Drilling is hitting a major milestone as they enter their 20th year of operations. Founded in 2006 by brothers Hugo and Gus Lacey, the company began with a single Air Core (AC) drilling rig and has since grown into a powerhouse with a 20-rig fleet, offering specialised services in Rotary Air Blast (RAB), Air Core, Reverse Circulation (RC), Diamond and Lake drilling. This milestone reflects two decades of innovation, safety and client-focused excellence in the mineral exploration industry.

From their humble beginnings, Raglan Drilling has built a reputation for delivering high-quality samples, exceptional production rates and an unwavering commitment to safety and environmental responsibility. The company’s growth is a testament to the Lacey’s hands-on leadership and their vision to meet client needs with precision and reliability. Hugo’s expertise in rig design and operations, combined with Gus’s background as a geologist, has positioned Raglan as a market leader.

Raglan’s growth isn’t just about rigs, it’s about people. Their tight-knit crew, handpicked for skill and commitment, is the heart of the operation. Long term managers and supervisors bring deep experience, fostering trust and transparency with clients. This people-first approach extends to their workplace culture, where training and safety protocols are non-negotiable, ensuring every job runs smoothly and safely.

Beyond the drill rigs, Raglan is woven into the fabric of Kalgoorlie’s Goldfields community. They were the founders of the Kalgoorlie Desert Race, an event that draws racers from nationwide and pumps adrenaline into the region.

They also back the GeoTalks lecture series, which since 2014 has been bringing the Goldfield’s Geoscience community together for engaging talks that dive into the geology of the region, proving their commitment to knowledge-sharing and local engagement.

Their ongoing support to a multitude of local sports clubs helps strengthen the Kalgoorlie community, which they’re proud to be part of.

As Raglan Drilling looks to the future, it continues to invest in its team and technology, ensuring it remains at the forefront of the industry. This 20th anniversary not only celebrates past achievements but also reaffirms Raglan’s dedication to innovation, community and sustainable exploration for years to come.

Here’s to two decades of drilling deep and aiming high, with plenty more to come!
