Reliable mine water management
ZYfire RTP for Australian mining conditions
Durable and reliable hoses are critical to effective mine water management. Products that can meet the demands of the harsh conditions faced on site in Australian mining are essential to operational success.
ZYfire Hose Corporation have been supplying dependable hosing solutions to the resource sector since 2000. The company is a global leader in research and production of hoses for various industries including mining, forestry and fire fighting, serving more than 70 countries.
A feature product, the spoolable reinforced thermoplastics pipe (RTP), is crucial to the safe transportation of media including multiphase fluids, gaseous and liquid hydrocarbons, chemicals, non-potable water, slurry, fly ash, brine and more. This product is suitable for mine sites, oil and gas fields, chemical industries and the energy sector amongst others.
RTP’s are composite pipes consisting of a medium transmission layer made of polyethylene, cross-linked polyethylene or heat-resistant polyethylene. The reinforcement layer is formed by unidirectional polyester industrial filaments aramid fibres, fiberglass or steel wires (ropes) combined with thermoplastic matrix resin.
These materials are continuously spirally wound in left and right directions and heated to form a mesh-like skeleton. The outer protective layer is made of polyethylene or heat-resistant polyethylene. The entire structure is bonded and formed through extrusion, resulting in a continuous, cohesive pipe.
These pipes are highly adaptable to harsh terrain, capable of following natural bends and remaining unaffected by environmental changes or uneven ground settlement.
Since the inner and outer layers are thermoplastic, they effectively resist erosion caused by corrosive substances such as acids, alkalis, salt spray, and sulfides. RTPs are corrosion- and scale-resistant, reducing maintenance needs and lowering total operational costs.
With a nominal pressure rating of 2.5 – 32 MPa, RTPs can be customized to meet the unique demands of your specific work conditions. They offer standard temperature resistance, from 60°C to 130°C, and an additional D-Flexible structural design can be added to enhance gas barrier performance, tensile strength, wear resistance, heating or insulation functions.
Thanks to their impact resistance, flexibility, and easy-to-install design, RTPs are the ideal, safe and cost-effective solution for your water management needs.
